Andrew Muchan HBA, CIM
Andrew’s practice is focused on advising HNW business owners and incorporated professionals. In particular, he works with a large number of successful family businesses, pharmacy owners, law partners, and real estate investors/developers.
Andrew provides three primary service offerings:
- Comprehensive Wealth Advisory – This is a full-service and holistic offering. It encompasses helping clients define their short and long-term goals (financial, professional, personal, and legacy), financial planning and guidance through life's major milestones, investment management, insurance planning (life, disability, critical illness), and tax & estate guidance. For business owners, it also encompasses corporate planning, business purchase and sale considerations, and succession planning.
- Advanced Insurance Planning – An insurance-only engagement that is typically focused on using life insurance as a tool for tax & estate planning, tax-efficient intergenerational wealth transfers, succession planning, shareholder buy/sell agreements, estate equalizations, or as a tax-efficient and stable alternative to fixed-income in an investment portfolio.
- Employee Benefits & Group Retirement – We act as a broker and advisor on your employee benefits and/or group retirement plan, in conjunction with our team of experts at our sister company, SPM Benefits. We help you with plan design selection & optimization, cost containment strategies, negotiate annual renewals, take your plan to market, act as a liaison with your carrier, conduct employee education sessions, and assist with plan administration.
Andrew studied business and political science at Western University and graduated from the Ivey Business School with an honours business administration degree. Prior to joining SPM Financial, Andrew worked in Toronto at Fidelity Investments and Canada Life Investment Management. Andrew is a Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) and is a member in good standing with Advocis and the Canadian Group Insurance Brokers Association.
